The Toru electric kettle, designed by Nendo for Alessi, expresses the entire philosophy of Alessi, its skills, and precision in working with steel.
“Toru” in Japanese means “through”. The designer's creative imagination transforms the handle into a spout running playfully through the steel volume of the body. An ironic but intellectual approach to the subject. A composition that softens the metallic material without altering its sophisticated aura.

The electric kettle is the first item to appear in the new TORU kitchenware collection designed exclusively for Alessi.
The stainless steel body has a jug-like shape, and the handle, thanks to its enlarged size at the top, can be easily lifted and hot water poured smoothly by holding it by the upper part of the handle.

- The device cuts off the power supply if there is too little or no water in the kettle,
avoiding possible damage.
- The base of the kettle is thermally insulated, so even after the water reaches boiling temperature, it can be safely placed on any surface.
- Inside the body, near the spout, there is a removable filter that traps limescale, particles formed inside the kettle.
- The handle provides a secure grip.
- The lid automatically lifts when the opening button is pressed.
- The (MAX) symbol inside the kettle's body indicates the maximum water level it can hold.
- On the kettle's body, under the handle, there is a lever switch for turning it on and off. Below this switch is a small indicator light that shows the kettle's status (on/off).
Cleaning:
Rinse the inside under running water and dry. Use a damp cloth to wipe the casing and the electrical base, then dry thoroughly. Do not place the kettle under running water or immerse it in water. Do not wash the kettle in a dishwasher.
