The DAWON decorative cushion features a crouching Malayan tiger hidden among banana leaves and lush vegetation. The design was developed based on a painting by artist Rebeka Duckett-Wilkinson.
The embroidered outlines of the motif are combined with hand-stitched crewel embroidery. This centuries-old technique, originating from Kashmir in the northern Indian subcontinent, uses exceptionally thick wool yarn. As a result, the design gains fascinating depth, a distinct structure, and a pleasantly soft texture.
