Winged corkscrew - Arborea

Anna G. corkscrew made of AlkiPaper® biocomposite and chrome-plated zamak alloy.

To celebrate the iconic pair of corkscrews designed by her father Alessandro, Fulvia Mendini envisioned a fairy tale in an oak forest, where two characters dance in an endless search for desires and secrets. The result is two new designs referencing Christmas trees (AM01A 7 and AM23A 32), two eye-catching patterns that emphasize the soft and delicate design of these iconic corkscrews.

Zamak is a zinc-based alloy that does not release any pollutants into the environment during the production process. The alloy's low melting point also allows for significant energy savings, which helps reduce the exploitation of natural resources in the later stages.
AlkiPaper® is a patented biocomposite based on paper, other natural raw materials, and functional components. Although it has similar processing properties to plastic, it is designed to degrade under controlled conditions at the end of its life, making it a more sustainable alternative to conventional plastics.
The metal parts and nylon components can be easily disassembled so that the materials can be recycled.

We recommend using a damp cloth or sponge with liquid detergent.
We do not recommend using a dishwasher for cleaning. Modern detergents and additives, as well as the high temperatures reached during the washing cycle, can cause irreversible damage to the product's surface.
