Spice grinder

Seasoning a dish with salt or pepper is a familiar table ritual, where the grinder is held with both hands, and the seasoning is done with a very tangible gesture. Michele De Lucchi approaches this typology, remaining faithful to the classic twisting mechanism.
He expresses his skill as a wood sculptor through the choice of essence, such as beech, an expressive language he has cultivated since the early
2000s. The result is two universal grinders that differ in shape but share the same technical solutions.
Deliberately small, these objects should not dominate the table or restrict social space. The natural oil finish, which makes each piece unique and pleasant to touch, is a tribute to craftsmanship.

The Yucatan and Oaxaca grinders, as expressive as two small Aztec totems, have been transformed by Michele De Lucchi into a poetic, essential, and recognizable pair.

The grinders are manufactured in Cusio by experienced turners. They are skilled interpreters of traditional craftsmanship and realize the designer's passion for large-scale wood processing. Natural surface Beech wood is treated with brown oil, which gives elegant warmth to the natural wood texture. Unique details The grain, knots, and variations in the wood make each piece unique and distinct from others.
SUSTAINABILITY AND SAFETY Produced in Italy, near Alessi's headquarters, using a partially manual turning process.
Made from FSC-certified wood, which guarantees ecological origin. Treated with natural oil that is environmentally friendly and non-toxic to human health. HACCP certified, a control system ensuring proper hygiene and safety standards for food products.

The shape of the housing allows for a comfortable and secure grip. The ceramic grinder guarantees full versatility and is therefore also suitable for grinding hard ingredients such as salt crystals. Two discs on the bottom of the grinder allow for adjustment of the grinding degree.

EASY CLEANING
Clean the external surface with a damp cloth and dry immediately. Avoid immersion in water, washing under water and in the dishwasher, as well as using abrasive cleaning agents that could damage the product surface.
